At the age of 17, Dr. Thoo Tan left his Malaysian roots to come to America. He was fortunate to be sponsored by welcoming farmers in the Mankato, Minnesota area. He felt like the luckiest kid in the world as he’d have the opportunity to get an education. He graduated from Mankato State University earning a Medical Technologist degree. His curious interest in the medical field led him to attend medical school. Dr. Tan graduated from Des Moines University at the age of 34, proving that you are never to old to achieve your goals.
Dr. Tan’s focus fell upon the OB/GYN field because he wanted to combine his love of surgery with the privilege of delivering babies.
