Dr. Matthew Flemming, a native of New Brunswick, Canada, practices in Iowa Heart Center’s clinic at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Dr. Flemming holds an undergraduate degree in physiology from McGill University in Montreal, and a medical degree from Albany Medical College in New York. He completed an internship and residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, and cardiology and electrophysiology fellowships at the University of Michigan Medical Center.
Dr. Flemming specializes in disorders of the heart’s electrical system, called arrhythmias. Treatment for patients with this condition include the implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators, and ablation procedures to prevent irregular heartbeats.
Dr. Flemming is board certified in cardiology. He also practices at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs.
