Dr. William Wickemeyer, an expert in lipid management and congestive heart failure, holds an undergraduate degree from Tufts University in Medford, and received his medical degree from the New York Medical College in New York City. He then completed an internship, residency and cardiology fellowship at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

In Des Moines, Dr. Wickemeyer formed Iowa Heart Center's Lipid Clinic, where patients receive important information on lowering cholesterol to reduce the risk of heart disease. He also serves as medical director of the heart transplantation program at Mercy Medical Center.

Born in Indiana, Dr. Wickemeyer was raised in Michigan and Long Island, NY. He is board certified in general and nuclear cardiology, and currently practices at Mercy Medical Center - Des Moines.
